My name is Chris Forte and I am the founder, visionary, and driving force behind The C. Forte Company. At Cerro Coso Community College in Bishop, California, I took Writing for Publication and Introduction to Business. I find the concepts of business and economics and their practical applications second nature, and enjoy setting up and running a business. Though managing a business is a natural talent to me, I do plan to go back to college to further and finish my education and to gain the necessary documentation many look for.

I have six years experience in personnel and financial management through being a low-level manager at a fast-food place, but acting as a general manager when the GM was away, and as the temporary "fill-in" Assistant Manager for the Clean Team operation of the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA), the agency that runs the property-and business-based improvement district (PBID) of downtown Long Beach, CA. At Carl's Jr. in Bishop, California, I was responsible for managing the crew, for de facto-scheduling when an employee would call in sick or not show up for work, for detailed record keeping, and for managing the inventory and ordering. There I gained my people and  customer service skills, and my love and knack for managing a business.

At the DLBA, in addition to the above, I also generated and kept to project schedules and timelines, a well-defined budget, interacted with our "stakeholders," those being local businessesresidents and community groups, and did a host of general office work, including faxing, scanning, copying, e-mailing, entering data onto computer spreadsheets, taking photos of our work and uploading them to our computers, and answering our office phones and taking messages.

I was also active at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Huntington Beach, CA as a "Hospitality Minister" and in the Knights of Columbus Council 6020  where I took an active part in meetings and volunteered at a Tootsie Roll Drive and as a parking attendant for an Easter Mass at our church.  When my "day job" forced me to move away from Huntington Beach, I had to give up much of my participation in both the church and Knights.

In Long Beach, I became active in the Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) Branch #440 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church and was instrumental in helping it approve and set up a Facebook page and volunteered at one of its events. Sadly, yet again, my "day job," being in the service industry, forced me to work hours that conflicted with my Church and community involvement, and so for a while I was not able to be active in either.

I was offered a new, different "day job" in San Diego, CA and there, with better hours, I was able to once again be active in the community. I am a Hospitality Minister at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, a Charter Member and Inside Guard of the newKnights of Columbus-Our Lady of the Rosary Council #16175 where I also volunteered to do traffic control during our church's Easter services, and a Member and Volunteer of the Italian Catholic Federation, ICF Branch #230, my last volunteering opportunity being acting as a bus person and cleaner during our last pancake breakfast.

I was also once a member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of CommerceWhittier Area Chamber of CommerceUNICO National-San Diego Chapter, the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA), a Council Network 2000 member of the National Italian American Foundtaion (NIAF), and a contributor to the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame. Like the ICF and Knights of Columbus, I desire being back actively involved with all of them.

Though working on my own as yet another lone blogger, I know how to recruit the right people and build a winning team. That, along with my natural talent, some college education, financial and personnel management experience, and my personal drive, love for this business and ambition makes me confident that The C. Forte Company, with me at its helm, will be a great success.
